A good friend of mine picked up his 2015 Z06 a while back and after extensive paint protection did a little racing with it over the weekend. He was 3rd fastest, with a shifter cart turning in the fastest time.
Here is the On Car:

Am I understanding correctly that he didn’t get out of 1st the entire time?

Correct.

Ain’t no room on that tiny, twisty course.

I was gonna say this is like bringing a gun to a knife fight, but this is more like bringing a shotgun loaded with slugs to a fencing match. Somehow you made it past the judges and just blew someones torso off.

Ironically the #2 car was a Miata. Certainly in this case more power != more speed. The Corvette driver believes there was enough time left based on the feedback of the video to beat the Miata. Doesn’t make it not fun of course (note the back end slippage!) just a bit of overkill power wise.
For those wondering the Miata has gears/tires/suspension modifications and both it and the Corvette beat an Ariel Atom, proving that ability/practice/skill trumps power/handling/modifications every time.

Wow an Atom?! That’s hard to believe. Not to mention drivers must make a huge difference.

Driver mod is the ultimate mod in Auto-X times IMHO. When speeds are sub 50 the driver really shines.
